Original October 2024 archive cover. The three country files are listing snapshots dated October 21, 2024; the pictured analysis themes are not measured findings.

Which markets and files are included?

Market Listings Shop IDs
Vietnam 500 231
Thailand 540 225
Singapore 309 132

Shop counts are distinct shopId values within each country file, not a count of globally distinct businesses. Every shop-and-item ID pair is unique within its own workbook. Each file has one worksheet, Sheet1, with 21 columns and one header row.

  • Vietnam (VND): 11036334-FacialSerumEssence-vietnam.xlsx.
  • Thailand (THB): 11046060-TreatmentSerum-thailand.xlsx.
  • Singapore (SGD): 11012437-SerumTreatment-singapore.xlsx.

The category labels come from the filenames; there is no category column or documented sampling method in the files. The market samples are not guaranteed to cover equivalent products or the full category. For example, the Singapore file includes acne-patch listings alongside serums and treatments.

The 21 fields and how to use them

  • Product and seller identity: name, url, imageUrl, itemId, shopId, shop_name and brand. Preserve IDs as text and use country, shop ID and item ID together when combining the files.
  • Market and snapshot: country, currency and updateTime. Every record stores the date as 10/21/2024; prices are in the currency of that record, not a shared reporting currency.
  • Prices and reference prices: price, price_before_discount, discountPercent, price_min, price_max, price_min_before_discount and price_max_before_discount. These fields do not map every product variant or pack size to its price.
  • Ratings and displayed counters: rating, rating_count, sold and historySold. The reporting period of sold is not defined in these workbooks. Neither counter should be labelled October orders or treated as audited transactions.

Quality checks before comparing listings

  • Zero reference prices: 99 Vietnam records, 112 Thailand records and 28 Singapore records have price_before_discount equal to zero. Treat that reference as unavailable; do not divide by it to calculate a discount.
  • Variant price ranges: 162 Vietnam records, 153 Thailand records and 136 Singapore records have different price_min and price_max values. Check the selected variant before comparing prices or calculating a price per millilitre.
  • Unknown brands: the original files contain 58 blank brand cells in Vietnam, 45 in Thailand and 43 in Singapore. Thailand also has two literal None brand values. Retain the raw values and document how blanks and placeholders are grouped in a separate analysis copy.

There are no dedicated volume, pack-count or variant-to-price mapping fields. Even equal minimum and maximum prices do not establish an unambiguous pack size: the Singapore Torriden listing with item ID 3487579984 names both 50 ml and 50 ml + 50 ml options. Product titles and brand labels are listing observations, not verification of authenticity or product effectiveness.

Worked example: a discount and category check

Singapore worksheet row 2 is a COSRX acne-patch listing from shop 116704504, item 5582104613. The title names packs of 24, 26 and 18 patches. It records a price of SGD 2.57, a reference price of SGD 5.90, and a current price range of SGD 2.57–4.43.

Using the two recorded prices, (5.90 − 2.57) ÷ 5.90 × 100 = 56.44%, which rounds to the stored discountPercent of 56. This checks the arithmetic of a reference-price reduction; it does not prove that buyers previously paid SGD 5.90 or could obtain this checkout price.

The row does not tell you which pack receives the SGD 2.57 price, so it cannot support a definitive price per patch. It also describes patches, not a serum. For a serum-only comparison, classify and filter products before calculating brand counts, typical prices or rankings.

For a related variant-matching exercise, see the October 2024 Thailand and Singapore sunscreen archive. Its worked example separates a reference-price discount from a conditional price per 100 ml, showing which pack-size evidence is still needed before comparing offers.

Build a comparable analysis

  • Keep each original workbook unchanged. In a working copy, add source filename, country and a documented product-type classification.
  • Compare prices within the same currency, product type, formulation and confirmed pack size first. A raw VND price cannot be ranked directly against THB or SGD prices.
  • If you convert currencies, record the exchange-rate source and date separately. The workbooks do not supply exchange rates, shipping, checkout vouchers or total delivered costs.
  • For changes over time, match country, shop ID, item ID and product variant across additional dated snapshots. A single collection date cannot establish a trend or monthly sales.

The cover presents industry insights, brand performance, customer trends and pricing trends as analysis themes. These files alone do not establish those conclusions: there is no full-market denominator, customer research, verified order history or repeated observation series. Keep conclusions specific to the captured listings.
