Historical guide, reviewed October 4, 2026. This article reviews ten listings originally selected for our guide to e-commerce conferences in 2025. The dates below are historical. Eight listings have dated organizer or participant evidence; the original UNCTAD and GELF date/location combinations could not be verified. This is not a calendar of upcoming events or a ranking based on measured conference quality.
Use the linked 2025 sources to identify the right edition, research topics and check old references. We corrected a Belfast event mislabeled as virtual Ecom World, Future Stores listed in the wrong US city, and a Singapore eTail listing linked to the US edition. The original “Top 10” cover is retained as archive artwork; it does not establish a ranking or document our attendance.
1. Shoptalk 2025
Program: March 25–27, 2025; badge pickup March 24
Location: Las Vegas, NV, USA
The official 2025 agenda lists conference programming on March 25–27 and badge pickup on March 24. It frames the program around customer experience and value, with a separate retail-media program. Our previous March 24–27 label did not distinguish registration from program days.
-
Source and decision checks
- Locate the archived session date before quoting a presentation.
- Check whether a retail-media claim concerns attributed revenue or incremental profit.
- Confirm access conditions before assuming recordings or speaker contact are available.
Research use: Choose one archived session relevant to a current business question and record the evidence behind its claims. A speaker or sponsor listing does not guarantee a meeting, a recording or a business result.
2. E-commerce Berlin Expo 2025
Date: February 19–20, 2025
Location: Berlin, Germany
The organizer’s 2025 announcement gives February 19–20 for E-commerce Berlin Expo. We retain the historical Berlin listing but remove unverified exhibitor totals and promises about named-company access. A current event homepage may describe a different year. For the documented sessions and registration terms, see our Berlin Expo 2025 source review.
-
Source and decision checks
- Use an edition-specific program when identifying a speaker or exhibitor.
- Check that any case study matches the country and customer type you serve.
- Keep supplier claims separate from independent measurement.
Research use: Before using an old vendor case study, check its market, business size, publication date and whether it reports an experiment or a sales presentation.
3. NRF 2025: Retail’s Big Show
Date: January 12–14, 2025
Location: New York City, NY, USA
The National Retail Federation’s January 2025 preview confirms January 12–14 at New York’s Javits Center. Its Innovators Showcase covered retail technology including AI, store technology and supply-chain applications. This provides a dated starting point for research, not proof that a product improved a retailer’s performance.
-
Source and decision checks
- Identify the business process a technology is intended to change.
- Ask what data, integrations and staff training it requires.
- Look for a comparison period and total operating cost.
Research use: Separate a demonstrated feature from a validated outcome. Ask what baseline, deployment period and operating costs a case study used.
4. UNCTAD eWeek: unverified 2025 listing
Date: Original April 14–18 claim not verified
Location: Original Geneva listing not verified
Our original April 14–18, 2025 Geneva listing lacks a verified dated event source. The indexed text of UNCTAD’s 2023 eWeek outcome report anticipated another edition in 2025, but that does not substantiate those exact dates or venue. We could not retrieve the full report during this review and do not treat an anticipated edition as a confirmed event.
-
Source and decision checks
- Keep the unverified date/location combination out of a confirmed-event calendar.
- Use dated UNCTAD publications for the policy statement being discussed.
- Do not infer cancellation or attendance from a missing event record.
Research use: For policy research, cite the actual report and publication year. Do not cite this unverified calendar entry as evidence that a 2025 conference or session took place.
5. CommerceNext Growth Show 2025
Date: June 24–26, 2025
Location: New York City, NY, USA
The organizer’s December 2024 preview of the 2025 Growth Show gives June 24–26 in New York City. It outlines retail growth topics including AI, loyalty and customer acquisition. These were announced themes; they do not verify every later session, attendee count or result.
-
Source and decision checks
- Define whether a reported outcome is orders, revenue or contribution after costs.
- Check the attribution window and handling of refunds.
- Look for evidence that can be tested within your own market.
Research use: When reading a growth case study, distinguish revenue, retained orders and profit. Record acquisition cost and returns as well as the headline increase.
6. GELF: unverified Los Angeles listing
Date: Original September 10 claim not verified
Location: New York recap; original Los Angeles claim unverified
We could not verify our original September 10, 2025 Los Angeles listing. A November 7, 2025 recap from co-founder Jim Okamura’s firm, McMillanDoolittle describes a GELF dinner in New York following a programming pause. November 7 is the publication date; the recap does not establish the original September date or an exact dinner date.
-
Source and decision checks
- Keep the Los Angeles listing separate from the documented New York dinner.
- Do not use the recap publication date as the event date.
- Record unresolved details explicitly instead of filling them with assumptions.
Research use: Treat the New York recap as a separate 2025 record. For international expansion planning, use our cross-border ecommerce guide to frame market and delivery questions before seeking event advice.
7. IRX (InternetRetailing Expo) 2025
Date: May 13–14, 2025
Location: NEC Birmingham, UK
The organizer’s IRX 2025 exhibitor brochure lists May 13–14 at the NEC in Birmingham. It describes a B2B focus with conference content, roundtables and networking. A promotional brochure supports the advertised dates and format, not actual attendance or the success of a vendor’s tools.
-
Source and decision checks
- Check whether a case study concerns B2B buyers or retail consumers.
- Document integration requirements before comparing vendors.
- Ask for a sample workflow using your actual requirements.
Research use: For a B2B demonstration, bring an anonymized requirements list: customer-specific pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms and order-system integration. Ask the vendor to identify supported features and gaps.
8. eComm Live 2025: corrected event identity
Date: April 30–May 1, 2025
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
The original listing linked to ecomm.live while naming “Ecom World” and calling it virtual. The eComm Live organizer’s April 17, 2025 announcement instead identifies eComm Live in Belfast on April 30–May 1, with sessions at the Assembly Buildings and nearby venues. This corrected entry refers to that event; it does not establish dates for a separate Ecom World event.
-
Source and decision checks
- Distinguish eComm Live in Belfast from other similarly named events.
- Check country availability before applying a social-commerce example.
- Verify recording availability and access terms separately.
Research use: The announcement discussed social commerce and cross-border selling. Match advice to the platform and country in the case study; our Southeast Asian shopping-platform comparison helps separate marketplace models and seller costs.
9. Future Stores 2025
Dates: June 4–5 listing; another source includes June 3
Location: Los Angeles, CA, USA
Our previous Seattle location was incorrect. Participant Teamwork Commerce’s 2025 event page lists June 4–5 in Los Angeles and a June 4 session on store customer engagement. Another participant, imagine.io, lists June 3–5 at the JW Marriott Los Angeles. These sources agree on Los Angeles but use different date ranges; we have not resolved the full-program range from an archived organizer schedule.
-
Source and decision checks
- Use Los Angeles when describing the sourced 2025 listing.
- Retain the source-specific June 4–5 versus June 3–5 distinction.
- Check which store outcome a case study actually measured.
Research use: Cite the date range from the particular source you use. For store-technology claims, ask whether the result measures conversion, staff time, queue length or satisfaction, and whether comparable stores were used.
10. eTail Asia 2025
Planned dates: May 14–15, 2025
Location: Sentosa, Singapore
The organizer’s first-draft eTail Asia agenda lists the main conference on May 14–15, 2025 at Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore. Our old link went to eTail West: its 2025 Palm Springs announcement describes February 24–27 in California. They are different editions. The Asia draft supports the planned dates and venue, not confirmation that every proposed session happened.
Questions to ask when using this agenda
- Use the Asia edition when researching the Singapore conference.
- Label proposed sessions from a draft agenda as planned.
- Verify a current edition independently before making travel arrangements.
Research use: Check the country, edition and agenda version when quoting an eTail session. A draft, final agenda and post-event recap answer different questions.
Conference research checklist
Turn conference research into a decision brief. Start with a business problem, such as reducing failed deliveries in one market. Choose a relevant source or session, write the question it could answer, then define what evidence would change your decision. Our suggested checklist below can also be used to evaluate a future edition after checking its current official details.
For example, a seller comparing delivery partners could prepare the same anonymized order-volume range, destinations, parcel weights and return assumptions for each discussion. Record each provider’s quoted scope and exclusions. Comparing consistent inputs is more useful than collecting unrelated headline prices.
| Record | What to write |
|---|---|
| Business question | One decision, market and customer group. |
| Source and edition | Organizer or participant; event year, agenda version and publication date. |
| Evidence | The metric, baseline, sample and limitations behind a claim. |
| Access and cost | Pass eligibility, travel, staff time and recording access for a future edition. |
| Comparison | The same requirements and cost assumptions for each option. |
| Follow-up | An owner, a small test and a date to review the result. |
After the research: Record what you learned, what remains unverified and one follow-up action with an owner and review date. Count completed useful introductions or tested decisions separately from event-attributed sales; attendance alone does not establish return on investment.
